The Texas English Language Proficiency Assessment System (TELPAS) fulfills federal requirements for assessing the English language proficiency of Emergent Bilinguals (EBs) in grades K – 12 in four language domains: listening, speaking, reading, writing.

An assessment to determine a student's readiness for college-level coursework in the general areas of reading, writing and mathematics.

YES Prep studentswill sit for the TSIA at their YES Prep campuses on designateddates listed. The assessment is free of cost for students who test on this day. Typically, students who take the TSIA at a college or university must pay up to $30 for the assessment. Should a student want or need to test off campus, they will be responsible for any required fees.
