EUGENE — Dylan Andrews banked in a 3-pointer with 0.4 seconds remaining to give UCLA a 73-71 victory over No. 12 Oregon on Sunday, the Ducks’ first loss of the season.

UCLA led 70-68, but a turnover with 19.9 seconds left gave Oregon a chance at the final shot. Jackson Shelstad was open at the top of the key and buried a 3-pointer to put the Ducks ahead with 9.8 seconds left, but that left too much time on the clock.

Andrews slipped while handling the ball on the ensuing possession but regained his footing before hitting the winning 3-pointer.

“I thought we played great for a long time,” UCLA coach Mick Cronin said. “First road game as a group, and I thought we played really well for a long period of time. We have work to do with our late-game defense, but we didn’t turn the ball over one time against their press. I told them if we do that we were going to have a chance to win.”

Eric Dailey Jr. had 19 points to lead the Bruins (8-1 overall, 2-0 Big Ten). Kobe Johnson added 11 points and five rebounds, and Andrews and Sebastian Mack had 10 points each.

Nate Bittle had 22 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Ducks (9-1, 1-1).

Oregon tied it at 56 late in the second half and trailed 59-58 before UCLA followed with eight straight points.

UCLA led 62-58 with five minutes remaining when Dailey Jr. corralled an offensive rebound and scored to give the Bruins a six-point cushion, at 64-58.

The Bruins held a 68-66 lead with 1:48 left in regulation when Mack picked up the ball behind the 3-point line. The sophomore made a driving layup for a 70-66 lead with 1:35 left.

The teams traded blocked shots before Bittle scored on a layup off a 3-point miss to cut the Bruins’ lead to 70-68 with 49 seconds left, setting up the drama of the final 10 seconds.

UCLA shot 52% from 3-point range, going 12 for 23, including the game-winner by Andrews. The Bruins entered the game shooting 32.5% from behind the arc before exceeding 40% for only the second time all season.

UCLA: The Bruins have won seven straight since a lone loss to New Mexico. The win over Oregon also was the first road win for UCLA.

Oregon: Oregon will likely drop a couple of spots, but should remain in the AP Top 25 as it finishes the month against three unranked foes.
